The Friends of Foots Cray Meadows will be hosting a free learning event suitable for children between the ages of four and 11 years old, during the autumn half term, from 11am to 2pm on Wednesday, 28 October 2026.

The woodland activity day will be an opportunity for children to learn more about trees along with escorted walks across Foots Cray Meadows, together with some halloween themed crafting.

This activity will provide extra curricular learning support to the Key Stage 2 science topic 'What plants do and what they need'.

All children must be accompanied by an adult and should bring a packed lunch. Drinks, teas and coffees will be provided.

This is a great opportunity for parents and grandparents alike to spend time in the splendid meadows in the colourful autumn time with their charges. Everyone should ensure they wear clothing and footwear appropriate for the weather on the day.

The event will be based at the Information Centre, accessible from the Rectory Lane Car Park entrance of Foots Cray Meadows.

Our group is a designated learning destination for the London South East Children’s University. Children do not have to belong to the Children’s University to attend this event.
