The annual Friends of Foots Cray Meadows (FFCM) Photography Competition returns for 2026.

We're keen to see your photos that celebrate the beauty of the meadows​ - all you need is a camera (phone cameras allowed!) and you could be in with a chance of winning a year's free FFCM membership, a framed copy of your photograph, and a £50 Amazon voucher!​

To submit, email your entry to ffcm06@gmail.com with the subject line of "Photography Competition 2026" along with your FFCM membership number. You can have a maximum of five entries, however only send one entry per email.

Terms and Conditions
Please note​ the terms have been updated for the 2026 competition with some additions (Terms 5 and 6).

The Photography competition will be open to FFCM members only.

Photographs must be submitted by emailing them to the ffcm06@gmail.com email address.

The email subject title must clearly state ‘Entry for FFCM Photographic Competition 2026’ with your FFCM Membership number

The photograph must relate to an aspect of Foots Cray Meadows or life on it. It must not contain an image of a recognisable person, child, pet, brand, or logo.

As the FFCM have no means of monitoring compliance with the Drone and Model Aircraft Code (Civil Aviation Authority) or the Air Traffic Management and Unmanned Aircraft Act 2021, photographs taken using drones are not permitted in this year’s competition (2026).

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the FFCM in 2026, photographs for this year’s competition must be taken within a year of the closing date of the Competition, i.e. between 31st May 2025 to 30th May 2026, see below point 8c.

Each competitor may submit up to a maximum of five photographs, but each one must be submitted via a separate email entry.

The email submission must include the following:

a) Name of competitor

b) Title of the photograph
-
c) Date the photograph was taken
-
d) Contact details, email address & mobile number

e) FFCM Membership number
-
f) Age of competitor, if under 18 otherwise specify Adult.

​​Photographs submitted by those under the age of 18 on 1st June 2026, must be submitted by their parent/guardian.

g) If there are sufficient entries, the entries from those under 18 years of age will be judged in a separate category. ​

The closing time and date for receipt of entries is 12pm, midnight (London time) Saturday 30th May 2026. Entries received after that time or which, in the opinion of the FFCM Photographic Competition Judges, do not comply with the terms and conditions will be rejected.

Members of the FFCM committee are not eligible to compete.

The winning photograph will be chosen by the FFCM Photography Competition Judging Panel, formed from members and committee members of FFCM and Richard Winston (an accomplished wild-life Photographer). Their decision will be final.

Photographs will be judged in relation to the following criteria:

Composition

Creativity

Originality

The visual attraction of an image which, in and of itself, clearly relates to some distinctive aspect of Foots Cray Meadows.

The winning photographer (Adult & under 18 categories, should number of entries permit) will receive a year’s free membership of Friends of Foots Cray Meadows, a framed and mounted copy of their winning photograph and a £50 Amazon Voucher.

The results will be announced at the FFCM AGM in Summer 2026 (date TBC).

Copyright in each photograph submitted must be vested exclusively in the competitor submitting it. The copyright will remain vested in that competitor and will not pass to FFCM.

The photographs submitted by competitors will be stored electronically by the FFCM Photography Competition Judging Panel. Shortlisted and winning photographs will be displayed on the www.footscraymeadows.org website, FFCM press releases, social media channels, marketing materials (e.g. calendars) and newsletter, so by submitting a photograph each competitor consents to this.
