The Friends of Foots Cray Meadows will be hosting a free learning event suitable for children between the ages of four and 14 years, during the autumn half term, from 11am to 2pm on the 29th October 2025.
The tree planting event will be the opportunity for children to learn about trees and grow their own oak or hawthorn tree from seeds sourced from Foots Cray Meadows, to then take home in a pot. All equipment will be provided.
All children must be accompanied by an adult and should bring a packed lunch. Drinks, teas and coffees will be provided.
This activity will provide extra curricular learning support to the Key Stage 2 science topic 'What plants do and what they need'.
The event will be held at the Information Centre, accessible from the Rectory Lane Car Park entrance of the Foots Cray Meadows.
Our group is a designated learning destination for the London South East Children’s University. Children do not have to belong to the Children’s University to attend this event.
