About the event

Our speaker this evening is Nick Gibson. He is ex Royal Engineers and currently works at the Royal Engineers Museum in Gillingham.


“The Royal Engineers Museum Collection contains over million items that together tell a story that encompasses the extremes of human experience in peace and war as well as 300 years of military, engineering and scientific development”.


The talk will cover the day to day lives of British Tommies on the western front during the 1914-18 war. It will be an interesting insight into those days long ago.


Time: Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Finish at 9.45pm.

Location: The Bothy behind St James Church, North Cray Road, Sidcup, DA14 5EQ. What3Words: ///unit.lung.bake. Car parking is available.

Price: £10 per person (£8 for members) to be paid on the door - cash and card available. Price includes entry and tea/coffee.
