Time & Location

19 Mar 2026, 14:00 – 16:30

The Bothy, St James Church, N Cray Rd, Sidcup DA14 5EQ, UK

About the event

The speaker is Susan Potter, an amateur photographer who centres her work around nature and wildlife.

Many years ago, Sue discovered an affinity and connection with mute swans and began recording, through her photographs, their life stories, learning so much about them and the difficulties they face surviving in our modern world.

Follow the story of the Foots Cray Meadows swan family in 2025 with its dramatic highs and tragic losses, a tale of strength, love and endurance that comes to light through her photographs.

Learn about their lives, how they communicate, develop and change throughout the seasons, and how we can all help to keep these wonderful and sentient beings safe.

The talk will be followed by a short film set to music, filmed by Sue's husband, Kevin, a videographer.

Time: This session is in the afternoon, starting at 2pm. Finish at 4:30pm.

Location: The Bothy behind St James Church, North Cray Road, Sidcup, DA14 5EQ. What3Words: ///unit.lung.bake. Car parking is available.

Price: £7 per person (£5 for FFCM members) to be paid on the door - cash and card available. Price includes entry and tea/coffee.
