About the event

The opener in a new season of Speaker Sessions organised by the Friends of Foots Cray Meadows (FFCM), the speaker will be Mark Gallant, Senior Partnership Officer for The Darent & Cray Catchment Improvement Group (D&CCIG). This is a group of individuals and organisations that have an interest in improving and conserving chalk streams such as the Darent & Cray and their tributaries.

The group actively engages with river managers such as the Environment Agency and other key organisations such as the water companies to ensure that the rivers' unique chalk stream ecology is conserved and enhanced for future generations, and that the level of abstraction is managed at sustainable levels to preserve flows through periods of drought and low rainfall.

With the River Cray right on our doorstep this talk should be of great interest our neighbours of Foots Cray Meadows.
