Our autumn and winter programme of tree planting and woodland management sessions with the Parks and Open Space Team of the London Borough of Bexley - are now published see the events page. The Friends of Foots Cray Meadows are involved in introducing locally sourced very young trees to the the areas seen here. These are images of the site where last winter these small trees (Known as whips at about 50cm in height, illustrated in the first image) are slot planted in clusters and then protected with mulch. The tree species planted included: Oak, Ash, Silver Birch,Hazel, Hawthorn and Field Maple.
